We have created this website for all people who are interested in learning about the Anishinaabe People and Shkagamik Kwe (Mother Earth).
We share what we have found people to believe are the essence of Ancient Ways of living a good life, know as mino bimaadiziwin. We realize that different people have different teachings or views. We share here what we have learned.
What You Will Find on this Site
We created resources to share:
The Land-based Living section shows pictures and videos on traditional activities such as living off the land that are currently practiced among the Anishinaabek.
The Land-based Wellness section provides pictures and videos of Anishinaabe worldview and understanding of healing, wellness and mino bimaadiziwin.
The Noojamadaa Exhibit section documents the life of a Healthy Relationships project that communities undertook.
The Video-based Education section provides easy to use resources for teachers, professors, and others who help to facilitate learning about First Nations people. The resources have been tested and evaluated with elementary school students, high school students, undergraduate university students, medical students, health professionals, policy makers and the general public. All resources are free to use for educational purposes in order to support the recommendations of the Truth and Reconciliation's Call to Action.
